We are presenting the Augmented Diversity game in Dorkbot Barcelona (that will take place in Hangar), on Thursday 14th at 19:30h.
The event will be transmitted live in streaming: http://bit.ly/g9g9Sz
Augmented Diversity is a collaboration between Hangar.org and the Biomedical Research Park of Barcelona, to develop an augmented reality game made to popularize different concepts about human genetic diversity. Scientists collaborated with the Hangar development team defining the characteristics of the game creatures, the threads that challenge them and how it is absurd that the player tryes to prioritize some criatures over the others, thus making an artificial selection. This is what we learn in the game: since we don't know the kind of challenges the species will have to confront in the future (environmental, biological or resource-related threads...) the only thing the player can do is try to foster the species genetic diversity. The more different, the better!
